For women especially, the need for safe, supportive environments to break the cycle and reclaim their lives has never been more urgent. Requirements
- Sobriety: Applicants must have 30 days of sobriety by move-in.
- Employment: A job or a strong readiness to secure employment upon moving in is essential.
- Financial Readiness: A $300 non-refundable deposit is due upfront. This does include the first two weeks rent.
- Medication: Applicants must not be using any controlled substances, including those prescribed (e.g., Suboxone, Adderall, Xanax, etc.), as Gratitude House maintains an abstinence-based environment. Other prescriptions like anti-depressants may be fine but all subject to review.
- Commitment to Recovery: Above all, applicants should have a genuine desire to stop drinking and using substances, with a commitment to working a 12-step program and an attitude of gratitude and service.


House Rules
Residents are welcome to stay as long as they need for up to one year as long as they can follow these simple but important guidelines:
- Stay sober
- Attend AA and/ or NA meetings daily
- Work the steps with an AA or NA sponsor
- Employed for at least 20 hours a week during the day
- Complete chores
- Awake by 7:30 am morning and honor 9pm curfew
- Attend evening check-ins 4 nights a week
- Pay rent on time
- Complete 10 hours of community service a month
- Contribute positively to the household
- Be an ambassador for Gratitude House, helping to serve others
Rent is $125 per week and includes room and utilities, with coffee and snacks always available.
Application Process
1. Click “APPLY TO BECOME A RESIDENT” above or below and complete the application. This should take about 15 minutes.
2. Once your application is received, we will contact you to schedule an interview.
3. Complete the next steps outlined in the interview which generally include meeting all of the requirements and providing documentation.
4. Upon official admission, pay security deposit ($50) and two weeks rent ($250) to secure a space ($300 upfront).
5. Collaborate with House Manager on move-in logistics.
The process is typically pretty fast; an admission decision can usually be made within 24-72 hours from application.
