Volunteer
“Our real purpose is to fit ourselves to be of maximum service to God and the people around us.”
Join our community by helping us in any of the following areas!
- Yardwork and home repair! Can you volunteer to work in our yard on our Spring Cleaning Day on Saturday, April 5? Or can you provide pro bono professional services to assist us with garedening or home repair?
- Volunteer to help our residents get rides to AA/NA meetings, work, or appointments; help them find jobs and meetings, other resources and professionals (volunteers who interact with residents must be vetted and approved by GH for safety and security reasons).
- Women can attend an open AA women's meeting at St. Stephen's Church, 33 N. Clay, 63135, on Thursday nights at 6 PM to support and connect with newcomers and learn more about alcoholism and addiction (all are welcome).
- Join our Gratitude GiddyUp Gala Committee to help us plan a memorable and FUN event on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. Meetings begin in February and are generally held once a month. This is a GREAT way to connect with others, have fun, and support our mission. No experience necessary and there is no pressure to lead the committee or put in excessive hours.
- Gift Cards for Household Items: GH can always use gift cards to stores that provide household essentials (Target, Schnucks, HomeGoods, Lowe's, etc.) as these help us offset the cost of the supplies we need to buy.
- Donate items or Sponsor our Gala: do you have items like art, vacations, tickets, gift cards, lessons, experiences, dinners, or other luxury items for us to auction? Do you own a business or know a company that could provide sponsorship for our Gratitude GiddyUp Gala in November?
- Spread Awareness: Host a coffee (or a lunch, or other event) to introduce Gratitude House to your friends, family, and network to learn more about addiction and the benefits of sober-living.
- Invite us to speak (for free) to your organization, community group, or even your family so we can carry the message of hope and recovery. We can give presentations on a variety of topics related to addiction and recovery, as well as provide resources and information about how to get help and support.
- Connect us to philanthropic individuals, business, or groups who may be interested in supporting our mission.
- Become a monthly donor to support our mission. Every dollar helps us reduce the rate of relapse. Go to our DONATE page and click on the link and set up a recurring amount.
- Pray for our residents and all of those who suffer from the disease of alcoholism. . . "Those of us who have come to make regular use of prayer would no more do without it than we would refuse air, food, or sunshine."
Other Ways to Support
If you have professional skills or pro bono services that could benefit Gratitude House, we would love to hear from you. We’re always open to friendly and free support from those willing to share their expertise.
A Friendly Reminder
At this time, we are NOT accepting additional physical donations. Our home is beautifully furnished, and even our storage space is filled.
PLEASE do not give direct donations or gifts to residents. All contributions must go through Gratitude House leadership to ensure fairness and appropriateness. While we appreciate generosity, we discourage direct donations to individuals.
